November 5, 2024 General Election
Qualifications to Vote:

  1. List of Qualifications:
    1. A U.S. Citizen at the time you register
    2. At least 18 years of age on or before the date of the next election
    3. Not in prison or on parole for a felony conviction
    4. Not found mentally incompetent to vote by a court
  2. To vote in an election, you must register to vote at least 15 days prior to the election date. Voter registrations are filed by county. Be sure to register when you move to a new county. Once registered you must reregister every time you:
    1. Move
    2. Change your name
    3. Change your political affiliation

September 23, 2024 29-Day Close of Registration for the November 5, 2024 Election

CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY/COMPENSATION

  1. Citizen of the United States
  2. Registered voter
  3. Resident of the City of Seal Beach and Council District
  4. 18 years of age or older
  5. A person is not eligible to hold a position as City Council Member unless he or she is, at the time of assuming office, an elector of the City/Council District and was a registered voter of the City at the time the nomination papers were issued to the candidate.
  6. Council Members are paid $600 per month (MC 3.05.010 - Ord. #1561) Expense & Use of Public Resource – Policy 300-09
